About

…this blog

I started this blog to satisfy the urge to rant—after a good flight—to as many people as would listen. Blogging thus spares my loved ones undeserved anguish. And anyone who doesn’t want to listen can shut me up with just a click of the mouse.

I post only a couple of times a month. The best way to keep updated is by subscribing to the feed, but if you prefer to receive e-mail, you can also subscribe by typing your address in the box on this page.

…me

I’ve been hopelessly addicted to free-flight since 1989. I learned to hang-glide while I was a 19 year old student in Sheffield, UK. I gradually switched to paragliders as they were more suitable to my itinerant lifestyle.

I’ve lived, and flown, in Korea, Japan and Holland. I’ve also made short trips to the Alps and the Americas. I now live in West Yorkshire, UK with my wife, YooA, and son, Leo. My local sites are in the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines and sometimes, the Lake District. For what it’s worth, I fly a Gin Gliders Zoom Race with a Kortel Kuik harness.

Oh, and I don’t work in an office or on a computer.

My profiles on other websites

I post flights on Leonardo, I’m AndyB on paraglidingforum.com and Leo’s Dad on the Derbyshire soaring club forum. I’m also on Facebook.

Thanks for the encouragement, Terry. Although I probably started the blog for my own amusement, it’s important to know that someone else feels interested to read it.
